Liège Wafel (3.53 oz):
The Liège Waffle is the “other” Belgian waffle
- the one the Belgians kept secret and never told anyone about! What makes them so different is the dough. It’s made
with a wheat-based yeast sweetened dough with pearl sugar, a sugar unique to Belgium that melts within. The pearls burst and
caramelize when the dough hits the waffle iron, resulting in a dense, sugary waffle that’s rich in flavor. Best eaten cold or warmed up in your oven or toaster oven* for a few minutes.

$2.50 / ea *The
warming up of the waffle by use of a microwave oven is punishable by Belgian Law, Article 15, Section VII
De Kompleet Wafel Kit - Brussels
Style (1 lb) De Kompleet Wafel Kit - The Brussels Style" was developed by
Thomas to have a quick and easy way for the making of wafel batter in his Truck. After very many requests from his customers,
he put the formula in this red box*. So Brussels-wafel-lovers can make the real ones (light-crispy!) at the home. The mix
is made "Kompleet", and therefor "Idioot-Proof". So there is no need for eggs, milk or butter. Every important
ingredient is in the box, just add water, air and...voila! Buy it here.
$6.95 *We
have found that our mix works best with irons that you can "flip". It will work with regular irons as well, but
the fullest wafels you get if you flip (not you, the iron...). Spray a little PAM or even better, brush the iron with butter,
for the better wafeling.
Belgian Pearl Sugar (1lb):
Extra large grain (P4) pearl sugar from the Tienen factory* in Belgium.
What makes this sugar so special? Well, it's made out of refined sugar beet sugar that's compacted under very high pressure.
This makes for a very hard grain, that won't melt during the baking process. The nice, white pearls will give your waffles
or cookies an extra crunch, and a nice decorative touch.
Buy it here.
$8.50 / ea *Thomas, the owner of the Wafels & Dinges truck, even worked for a
while in this factory back in 1995. It was situated in the middle of the fields, only a 10 minute drive from his village,
Bierbeek.
